Revenue Streams Part 1: Steel, Rubber, Propane, and More…All from Discarded tires
The commodities inside every discarded tire (waiting to be liberated).
Every year, 17 million tons of tires are tossed out into landfills. Most people see a waste crisis.
We see it as a commodities pipeline.
Every tire that enters PowerLink’s patented digestion system is molecularly deconstructed into four distinct, sellable commodities: high-carbon steel, liquid rubber, propane, and hydrocarbons that we convert into low-carbon diesel.
- Steel, primarily extracted upfront, can be sold to buyers across construction, manufacturing, and infrastructure industries with global demand.
- Liquid rubber serves as a clean, domestic substitute for imported raw rubber, with buyers in tire manufacturing, roofing, and numerous industrial applications. Carbon black, naturally present in the liquid rubber output, adds further value as an additional recoverable material.
- Propane is recovered as a clean gaseous fuel, ready for direct use in energy generation or sale to existing fuel markets. We can also use it to power our own digesters.
- Low-carbon diesel is derived from the hydrocarbon chains released during digestion and is clean enough to be piped directly into a generator and run. Also used to power our own operations.

PowerLink’s digestion process extracts 20-40% more valuable materials than most competing methods, and unlike pyrolysis (another method used), every output has an established market. Nothing requires special processing. Nothing goes to waste. In fact, ours is a zero-emissions process, making it cleaner and more efficient.
The feedstock (discarded tires) isn’t running out, so neither will the revenue opportunity.
This is Part 1 of our Revenue Streams series. Next up: Power Generation Sales. Stay tuned!
